KetoNoir gives the patients of clinicians who recommend ketogenic and low-carbohydrate nutrition a serious place to track macros, ketones, glucose, and adherence — with AI coaching that respects the plan their clinician has already set.
KetoNoir isn't a medical device. It's a tracking and education platform consumer-facing in distribution, clinically serious in design. Here's what it actually does.
600,000+ foods across USDA, FatSecret, and barcode databases. Net carb, fiber, protein, and fat tracked to the gram. Restaurant search and supplement records included.
Patients log blood ketone, capillary glucose, and breath acetone readings alongside food intake. Glucose-Ketone Index calculated automatically. Trends are exportable so patients can bring them into your visits.
Built on Anthropic's Claude. Reads each patient's actual log in context — macro targets, ketone history, the dietary pattern they're following — and answers in line with it. Doesn't override clinician guidance.
The patients you steer toward a ketogenic or low-carbohydrate dietary pattern need somewhere serious to log it. Most apps either don't track ketones at all or buried them three menus deep. KetoNoir puts macros, ketone readings, and glucose in the same view — so the patient walks into their next visit with a clean picture instead of a self-report.
Ketogenic and low-carbohydrate nutrition has a four-decade research base across epilepsy, metabolic health, and weight management. We don't make therapeutic claims. We build the tools your patients need to follow whatever pattern you've set.
Ketogenic diets have been studied since the 1920s for drug-refractory epilepsy and more recently across cardiometabolic markers, weight management, and PCOS. Our patient-facing science page summarizes what's been published and links to primary sources. Read the literature summary →
KetoNoir is the subject of an active NIH SBIR research program around precision macro and ketone tracking as an adjunct to clinician-supervised low-carbohydrate plans. Clinician partners interested in collaborating on validation studies — get in touch.
KetoNoir does not diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any disease. It does not replace medical advice, supervision, or monitoring. It's a logging and education tool, designed for patients whose clinicians have already determined a ketogenic or low-carb plan is appropriate.
What patients log — food intake, ketone readings, glucose values — they own. Provider integrations are on the roadmap with appropriate BAAs and HIPAA-aligned safeguards in development; until then, all KetoNoir data is patient-entered and patient-controlled.
We're building a small group of clinicians who already recommend low-carbohydrate nutrition and want to give their patients something better than a generic macro app. Here's what that looks like.
A real person you can email about a patient question, a feature request, or a study idea. Not a support ticket queue. Founder-led until we outgrow it.
Permanent discount on any future clinician-side product (dashboards, BAAs, EHR integration) for the first 100 clinicians who join the network during the Beta period.
A clinician-side view of consented patients' macro and ketone trends. Shared with explicit patient consent. Built with BAA support for practices that need it.
If your practice has the patient volume and you're interested in co-authoring or running an IRB-approved validation study with the SBIR team, we want to talk.

KetoNoir is a consumer wellness and nutrition-tracking application. It is not a medical device, not FDA-cleared as a Software-as-a-Medical-Device, and does not diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any disease. The U.S. FDA's General Wellness Policy informs the scope of what the product does and does not claim.
KetoNoir does not replace medical advice, monitoring, or supervision from a qualified healthcare provider. Patients with diabetes, cardiovascular disease, kidney disease, eating disorders, pregnancy, or any condition where a ketogenic diet may be contraindicated should consult their clinician before starting or continuing a ketogenic dietary pattern.
All data within KetoNoir today is patient-entered and patient-controlled. KetoNoir is not, at the time of writing, a HIPAA Covered Entity or Business Associate. If KetoNoir is integrated into a clinical workflow such that it handles Protected Health Information on behalf of a Covered Entity, a Business Associate Agreement will be required and is available on request. HIPAA-aligned safeguards (encryption at rest and in transit, access controls, audit logging) are under active development as part of the NIH SBIR program.
KetoNoir is the subject of an active NIH SBIR research program. Any participation by clinicians or patients in a validation study will be conducted under IRB approval with documented informed consent. Recommending KetoNoir to a patient outside a study context does not enroll the patient in research.
